Bangalore is one of India's strongest markets for creative careers. The city has a large mix of technology companies, startups, SaaS businesses, D2C brands, advertising networks, design studios, digital agencies, and global companies. This creates opportunities for designers, copywriters, art directors, social media professionals, strategists, video editors, account managers, UX designers, and other creative professionals.
The important thing is that creative agencies in Bangalore do not all work in the same way. Some focus on advertising and large campaigns, while others specialise in branding, digital experiences, social media, product design, or content. If you understand what an agency actually does before applying, you can build a much stronger portfolio and application.
I’m Riten, founder of Fueler, a skills-first portfolio platform building the career infrastructure for 100 million creative professionals. Fueler connects talented individuals with companies through assignments, portfolios, and projects, not just resumes or CVs. Think of it as Dribbble/Behance for work samples combined with AngelList for hiring infrastructure.
If you are applying to creative companies, your portfolio should make your skills easy to judge. You can learn more about how to build a career portfolio that actually gets jobs and use that thinking while preparing your applications.
In this guide, I have listed 25 creative agencies and studios worth exploring in Bangalore. The list covers advertising, branding, social media, digital creative, UI/UX, product design, strategy, and creative production. The agencies are not ranked. The goal is to help you understand what each company does, what kind of roles you can explore, what work to show, and how to approach the application.
Creative agencies hire for much more than graphic design. Depending on the agency, you may find opportunities in copywriting, art direction, social media, brand strategy, UX design, motion graphics, video production, client servicing, account management, content, and digital marketing.
Your application should therefore match the type of work the agency produces. A copywriter applying to an advertising agency should show campaign thinking and writing. A UX designer should show complete case studies. A social media creative should show content ideas and platform understanding.

Do not apply to all 25 agencies with the same portfolio. Start by deciding what kind of creative career you want to build.
The agency name should not be your only reason for applying. Look at the kind of clients it works with, the formats it produces, the quality of its recent work, and the type of creative problems it solves.
For example, a person who wants to become a product designer may get more relevant experience at a UX and product design studio than at a traditional advertising agency. A copywriter interested in campaign advertising should prioritise agencies where creative concepts and brand campaigns are central to the work.
Before applying, spend at least 30 minutes studying an agency's recent work. Look for patterns. What kind of projects do they publish? What industries do they serve? What visual style or communication approach do they use? Your application becomes much stronger when it answers these questions.
A resume tells an agency what you claim to know. A portfolio gives the agency something to evaluate.
For creative roles, this difference matters. Your portfolio should contain three to five projects that closely match the role you want. If you are applying for copywriting, show campaigns and writing. If you are applying for UX, show complete case studies. If you are applying for social media, show content ideas and campaign thinking.
You can also learn how designers can build proof of work on Fueler and how to build a proof-of-work portfolio with Fueler.
Do not hide your process. Explain the brief, your role, your thinking, the execution, and the outcome. This makes it easier for a creative director or recruiter to understand how you work.
You do not need a long client list before applying to a creative agency.
Create self-initiated projects based on real business problems. Choose a Bangalore startup, D2C brand, technology company, restaurant, or consumer business and create a campaign concept, brand identity, landing page, social campaign, or UX redesign.
Clearly label the project as self-initiated. The objective is not to pretend that you worked with the company. The objective is to demonstrate how you approach a realistic creative problem.
This is especially useful for students and early-career professionals. A strong self-initiated project can show more useful information than a resume filled with generic skill names.
Many creative hiring processes include some form of portfolio review, test assignment, task, interview exercise, or practical evaluation. You should therefore be prepared to demonstrate your skills instead of relying only on your resume.
This is one reason I believe in proof-of-work hiring at Fueler. You can read more about proof-of-work hiring and how it works.
When you receive an assignment, treat it like real client work. Understand the brief, identify the audience, explain your approach, produce the work carefully, and present your reasoning clearly.
The biggest mistake is trying to look like everyone else.
If you are applying for a copywriting role, do not only write "creative and passionate writer" on your resume. Show three strong campaigns and explain the thinking behind them.
If you are a designer, do not upload twenty random posters. Show a few strong projects with clear problems, decisions, iterations, and outcomes.
If you are applying for social media, show that you understand the platform, audience, format, hook, and content strategy.
Your application should answer one simple question:
Why should this agency believe you can do the work?
Your portfolio is the strongest answer.
Bangalore is a strong city for building a creative career because the market is not limited to traditional advertising. You can work with advertising networks, branding studios, digital agencies, UX companies, social media teams, product design firms, and technology businesses.
The best strategy is to choose your direction before you start applying. Pick a role, identify the agencies that match it, build three to five relevant projects, and make your proof of work easy to evaluate.
Do not send the same portfolio everywhere. A creative agency should be able to look at your work and quickly understand what you are good at.
If you are starting without much experience, focus on proof of work. Build projects, document your thinking, complete assignments, and make your work visible. You can also learn how to get a job without traditional experience and use the same approach while targeting Bangalore's creative agencies.
Some agencies worth exploring include Ogilvy, Dentsu Creative, Leo Burnett, Schbang, Social Panga, White Rivers Media, Tonic Worldwide, Elephant Design, Think Design, Lollypop Design Studio, Brandemic, Fractal Ink, YUJ Designs, Pepper Square, and Social Beat. The right agency depends on your target role and the kind of creative work you want to build your career around.
Creative agencies hire for many roles, including copywriter, art director, graphic designer, UI/UX designer, product designer, social media manager, content strategist, creative strategist, video editor, motion designer, account executive, and client servicing professional.
Not always. Strong proof of work can help you demonstrate your ability even when your professional experience is limited. Self-initiated projects, college projects, freelance work, internships, assignments, and personal campaigns can all become useful portfolio pieces when presented honestly.
Choose three to five projects that match the role. Explain the brief, your role, your process, the final work, and the outcome. For creative roles, quality and relevance are usually more useful than filling your portfolio with a large number of unrelated projects.
Research the agency before applying, customise your portfolio, show relevant proof of work, and explain why your skills match the type of work the agency produces. Instead of only saying that you are creative, demonstrate your creativity through actual campaigns, designs, writing, strategies, or projects.
