Background
Wizdom is a self-growth app that helps users learn and grow in 15 minutes a day from non-fiction books, courses, and podcasts. The app offers a variety of content, including books, courses, podcasts, and articles.
Learnings
In order to improve the engagement, retention, and value of Wizdom for users, I created a deck that answered the following questions:
- How can we improve engagement and retention on Wizdom?
- How can we personalize Wizdom better for users?
- How can we create habits for users?
- What content can we add to make Wizdom more valuable to users?
What I did
I based my deck on the following research:
- A study by the Pew Research Center found that 63% of Americans say they have learned something new from a podcast in the past year.
- A study by the McKinsey Global Institute found that upskilling and reskilling can boost employee productivity by up to 25%.
Based on this research, I made the following recommendations for improving Wizdom:
Personalize the user experience
- Recommend content based on the user's interests.
- Provide users with notifications about new content.
- Allow users to create custom playlists.
Make the app easy to use
- Make the app visually appealing and easy to navigate.
- Organize the content in a way that is easy to find.
Offer a variety of content
- Add more books, courses, podcasts, and articles from a variety of genres.
Incentivize users to engage
- Offer rewards for completing challenges, reading articles, or watching videos.
Make the app social
- Allow users to connect with each other and share their thoughts on the content.
PS : I shared this deck & my research with Wizdom's Founder. As a result, I was offered an internship as a Product & Growth Intern in their team!
