Weekly Growth Accounting Based on Growth Accounting framework (Social Capital method)
This project was completed as part of a data-driven business case study focused on understanding user growth and retention through Weekly Growth Accounting. The analysis was based on the principles outlined in Social Capital’s “Accounting for User Growth” framework, which segments active users into New, Resurrected, Churned, and Retained categories. Using weekly active user (WAU) data, I built a Growth Accounting Chart and calculated key performance metrics including Quick Ratio, Retention Rate, and Churn Rate to evaluate the health of user engagement over time.
Objective
To analyse weekly active user data and:
- Categorise users into New, Resurrected, Churned, and Retained groups based on their activity patterns.
- Calculate and visualise the Weekly Growth Accounting Chart to measure user base dynamics.
- Derive actionable insights on user growth, retention, and churn to assess business health.
- Interpret the Quick Ratio to understand the efficiency of user acquisition and reactivation in offsetting churn.
