The Mirror Trap

What’s your mirror trap?

Mine was something that went against my way if doing things - Figuring it out on the way.

My trap was blurring the lines between the best and the perfect.

I fell into the trap of perfection!

How does it look like?

“The script is nowhere near perfect!”
“The idea should be flawless.”
“The shot needs to be cinematic of the highest order!”
“How will I stand out if what I do is not perfect?”

Refining is fun but an infinite loop isn’t.
At some point, we ought to put our foot down.

But that’s just half the story.

Because when I zoomed out, I realised the actual driver- the root of the problem- running away from a fear.

But it does take that same fear to ignite a risk appetite that will, ironically, free us from the idea of falling prey to the fear, which is exactly what I did!

This video is proof of that!
